Office on Aging Screen Shot

Office on Aging Website Content Management System

Description: Office on Aging wanted a redesign of their website in order to present themselves to their clients as a warm and friendly organization that strives to counsel the constituents of Riverside County. The new design was also integrated with a content management system that empowered the Office on Aging staff with the tools to update and monitor the quality of their website. The design team used guidelines established by the National Institute on Aging when choosing colors and fonts for the website.

Technology

Software Components: The website was built using web development tools and the Open CMS content management application. Custom components were built with Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) utilizing Java Server Pages, Servlets, and Java Beans with a Model-View-Controller design pattern. The website runs in a Tomcat web container on a Windows server.

Database Management System: Oracle

Benefits: The objective was to provide constituents with a website that was easy to navigate in order to allow them to quickly locate information about services provided by Riverside County Office on Aging.

Customer Comments: The RCIT development team was able to achieve the goal of a warm friendly look and feel to the website through the picture, and the introduction on the home page.
